Combining Art Styles

Many paintings in the world today are a combination of styles. Realism and representation are often put together to create a scene or person. Each of these methods has its own way to help the artist show their vision of how they see the world. Some objects on the canvas look as if they stand out. Their shape and colors exactly match a vehicle or building seen in real life. Other parts of the painting may look nearly real, but they were created within the mind of the artist and only represent something previously seen or imagined. This is the way most paintings have been done throughout time.
